The exertions offered
by many scholars to produce Op-ed articles become ineffectual as the messages
conveyed through the newspapers are palpably ephemeral. This implies to the
beginning of my extrapolation that suitable medium for a suitable text!
In keeping with my
credence, however, not all Op-ed articles are ephemeral — most of them are
worth preserving for years. This book comprises of 82 such eternal perspective critiques
relevant to the title of the book, “Mass Media and Society.”
Unlike the usual
academic textbooks and reference books, this book might not be read in order. This volume can be read from any page,
based on the topical interest of the reader.
This book does not
only serve as a reference book to the students and scholars of mass
communication but also as a general book to the individuals of common interest.
